Very nice effect! What type of spackle did you use?

Thanks! I used Red Devil Onetime Lightweight Spackling. It's a very bright white which is nice, but it isn't as dense or water resistant as I'd like. I'm sure there are better options, but this is just what I had left over.

Do you have any problems with the temperature? Our stove is getting quite warm and I would be afraid that the knob simply melts if its made with PLA.

Not yet, I had the same concern, but its been fine for at least a month. If any hot pot or pan comes in contact with it, I'm sure it'll melt though. If that part of your stove gets hot, I'd try ABS or PC.
