Summary

While there is no shortage of vase designs for 3D printing out there we thought we wanted to make a small contribution to the vase collections of the world.

Big is beautiful!
As we love printing PET in thicker layers this is printed with a 1.0mm nozzle and with an increased extrusion multiplier we managed to get a layer height of 1.0mm. It´s important to note that when printing at these layer heights there is a large amount of plastic to melt and push thru the nozzle so the printing speed must be kept to a minimum. The vase in the the pictures is printed with T-Glase at 5.0mm/s

You're getting a gorgeous finish on that T-Glase! I love the simplicity of this vase, normally I'd look straight past something like this because I like busy geometries but it's just 'so simple it's perfect'.

I'm going to have to get some T-Glase and print this, at the moment I'm printing it at 2.2 scale on my large bot in PLA, since it's going so well I've decided I'm going to do a trio of 3x scale, 2.2 scale and 1.6 scale. Will post pics later ;-)

Thanks for the model CreativeTools - I have many a "3DBenchy" around the place also.

Thanks JazzyB for your kind words. :-) We are glad you liked the vase and enjoy a fleet of #3DBenchy boats.

I like the "ripple effect" the larger extrusion gives for the t-glase.
T-Glase is a really nice plastic for this type of application. clear, but not as brittle as PLA.

Thanks cerberus333 :)

For sure T-Glase and PET-like plastics are an excellent alternatives. Prints get really strong!
