It seems that Adafruit's case is now everywhere with some slight tweaks and unfortunately often without attribution. The most popular version would appear to be the variety with the hinged lid. Unable to find the files for this version anywhere we at www.phenoptix.com set about copying it, adding some tweaks of our own, such as reversing the most popular hinge position so you can actually access the GPIO pins and open and close the lid, strengthening the dragon claws etc.

Things we've not done:
Cut holes in the lid, you can add them yourself if you need them.
Emblazoned it with the Raspberry Pi logo as it's a trade mark belonging to the foundation and we respect that.

If you copy, reproduce and sell please respect the licence and link back to here or the original Pi Box.

I made one today, here is one problem that I found. On the face that has the USB and SD card outlets, there is one notch missing which accept the right angled face that has the composite out.

how thick is this case and is it possible to use it with 3 mm wood

It's all in 3mm Acrylic, so wood would work fine. Might try a batch myself!
