This is a triply periodic Gyroid surface modeled in Rhino and MeshLab. Inspired by the work of Dzingof and Bathsheba, I wanted to model my own version. The model here is approximately an 80mm cube with 3mm walls. I printed it at 80% scale to save some time, and it came out beautifully. Enjoy!
After a bit of trial and error, I figured out how to model a reasonably continuous surface in Rhino. Since it's not made using the mathematical formula, it's not perfect, but its pretty close.
