Hi there,

I was wondering if I could use your model for the following project:

I am getting in touch because I am working on an art installation to be
placed at King George Square in Brisbane (Australia) in the very near future and perhaps in other sites as well.

The topic of the installation is the plight of refugees

I am part co-ordinator of a 3D printing group in Brisbane and collectively
we would like to make this happen.

would like to help us?

This is what I am thinking.......

Doing an art installation in Brisbane and and perhaps worldwide using 3D
printed parts.

I am planning on designing the idea and posting it on thingiverse (website
that is a shared 3D printed library worldwide) so it can be done hopefully
in many places at the same time.

I am refining the idea but is to bring the refugee crisis the world is
experiencing today into peoples minds so they hopefully take action.

Then as an organized group we could use social media to promote our art and
how we as a group made it together.

So, the idea is to create many, hopefully hundreds of 3D printed people
(families, kids on their own , elderly) and put them on the ground on King
george square in a line as if these were people fleeing Syria or many of
the people are fleeing from.

We spoke about the concept of ' adopt a refugee'.
Where people can 3D print their own, or buy a ready made one, then take it with them and take photos wherever they are with them and post it on instagram.

Your help would be greatly appreciated.

can we use your scan for this??

Hi Hugo
Yes of course. No problem.
If you look in my other models I have scanned a few other figures you might want to use.
Regards
Tim

Where did you get the original model?

Hello

As described in the original description:

I scanned a young man with a Kinect scanner using ReconstructMe and finished using Netfabb & Meshmixer.
I used my turntable design at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:785242
using a worm gear

It came out quite well we thought.
