Update 09/07/2015 - Ahora el carro del eje X, es válido para montar la versión de extrusor simple y doble. La subí para 3 lm8uu o bien para 1 lm8luu y 1 lm8uu

A couple more questions? 1. You have pictures of what look like two different versions, one in blue and one in yellow. The yellow one looks like it has variable tension on the filament feed? I'm printing Flexible Filament using a Hictop I3, which doesn't have variable tension, and I'm having to just remove the spring to get it to feed properly. Can your extruder handle Flexible Filament (NinjaFlex). 2. You don't show any cooling fans, my current extruder has one on the filament feed, and one to cool the extruded model. Does your extruder support fans? 3. What are the 'carro_GT2*' parts?

Can these components be printed on a single head printer, the geometry of some of them looks like supports are needed?

As Angoosh say, the parts which need support, they have it already 3dmodel by me, so you can printted without support

there are no supports needed, and you can print supports even on single head printer, but they will be from the same material and sometimes very hard to get rid of.

I've printed this one, but turns out that my extruders aren't the same height, i'll try to remix your design to make it adjustable on each extruder (just the lower part). On some of the pictures there is another version where the idler is on the outside, would you mind sharing that one instead? My idlers are way too close for my clumsy hands to fit them easily :)
Imprimi esta version, pero resulta que tengo extrusores de distinta altura, voy a tratar de remixar tu diseño para hacerlo ajustable individualmente en Z para cada hotend. En algunas de las fotos se ve que habia una version que tenia los idlers para afuera, podrias por favor compartir esa version? Me resultaria mas comodo a la hora de ajustar los idlers, no me preocupa tanto perder algunos cm de superficie.

Save yourself some stress with trying to make the mounts adjustable - it's a lot of hassle.

To adjust the height you could easily file down one end of the threaded heatbreak tube with a file on the one that is longer. If the E3d hotends are"genuine" then height shouldn't generally be a problem as the copies are not machined to the same tolerances.

If there is a huge difference, Make sure that the nozzles are screwed right in to the heatblock, then assemble the break tube and then screw in the heatsink - that'll make sure everything is nipped up nice and close.

I'm going to upload in a few days the 2017 version, the extruder can be tilted to compensate the distance between the nozzles

mmmm doble extrusor y ventilador de capa es un poco difícil, por que no tienes forma de controlarlo, por lo menos con una ramps

con una simple plaquita de expansion y configurando marlin puedes controlar el doble extrusor y ventilador de capa o lo que quieras con una ramps normal y corriente:

Vale, realmente no hace falta imprimir todo para el extrusor doble, únicamente la pieza Dual Extruder. Las piezas Top y Bottom son para el eje Z.

Si correcto solo las del Z y el extrusor completo. No tengo manual por que básicamente cualquiera de prusa te vale, no tiene mucha ciencia. Para el extrusor tengo un vídeo en youtube en mi canal

Claro, pero yo tengo la estructura de metacrilato de 3DEspana a la cual no le puedo hacer agujeros (porque seguramente se partiría).

no te hace falta agujerear nada, usa los mismo agujeros que las piezas estandar

The pieces are the same from a prusa I3, just Z pieces are a little big bigger, but same i3 assembly manual it should be ok

Para los endstops ópticos no tengo, por que no los uso básicamente.

La modificación para la Steel no por que supondría mandar a cortar a laser las piezas necesarias y no es tan sencillo como es la i3

que piezas (motor, hotem,..) hay que comprar para conseguir un segundo extrusor ?

Hola compañero, dices que NO se pierde área de impresión pero ¿¿el conjunto de doble extrusor no toca en los extremos, izq y dcha, con las varillas del eje Z?? ¿Tampoco toca con los elementos de la polea del propio eje en el que se mueve el extrusor?

con las piezas ampliadas del eje Z, no se pierde area de impresión, con las piezas normales de la prusa i3 pierdes unos 70-80 mm en el X

las que estan en este proyecto, hay varios stls, y entre ellos estan las piezas del eje z ampliadas

the file "dual_extruder_i3.stl", the stl is reversed compared to the picture

That's because the printer in the picture it's an older version, the new version reduce the distances between nozzle, so you doesn't loose footprint

I printed the entire Kit in PLA, and i use e3DV6, no problems with temperatures.
But if you wanna print in ABS, go ahead

The stepper it's a nema17, it's just a normal PrusaI3, but with some changes in the printed parts

With "normal" i3 you mean a i3 prusa hephestos? I am asking because I got that model ;)
So if I print this with PLA, will the extruders be able to handle 220-250°C without the PLA from the extruders getting fluid?

yes use the same motors and electronics. I print Nylon with taht extruder. But as I say i have the E3DV6 hot end, the heatsink it's cold while printing. Print the extruder in ABS. The other pieces PLA it's fine

Okay thanks one more question though:
Whats the diamater you used for the clamps to hold your hot ends in place? I would like to use 2 of these hot ends as I am already using 1 of them atm:

Would this hot end be able to be held by the clamp too?

I dont' think you can't install those on my extruder. Too shorts, and BQ use an aluminum extruder, no plastic pieces, if hot end gets hot, you have no problem

Thank you coricoco :) I just got an I3 from Folger Tech, it is kinda small and only 1 extruder, but I figured it was the cheapest route to get started.... and I could make it better by making parts for it :)
