This is a first go at a OpenRC Quadcopter.

starting was to create a different design than what we usually see for 3D printed quads and enclose all electronics in the design itself. The idea was an experiment to create parts from a strong material with thin walls and low infill to keep the weight down.

Everything is designed to fit the electronics from a DJI 450 Flamewheel.

As you may have noticed i call this a "Beta" version and that is because it´s simply not finished. While all parts do fit together there are things missing in the design.

Hopefully someone can get something out of this project, maybe use parts of the design or it can spark ideas for new projects.

which motors use for this quadcopter?, which battery?

since this is designed to swing 8-9 inch props you'll probably want 2212 sized motors around 900-1000kv, 30A ESC, and the biggest 3S battery that will fit in the battery compartment.

but i have another question if is possible, can you link me a site where there are the best choice for you?

i have those. the motors are good but the props are impossible to balance. if you're going to fit your aircraft with a camera it will be tough to get smooth video due to the vibration from imbalance of the props.

What is the weight? Can use a 2200kv motors?

Do you make the CAD source files for this available? Or do I use the STL files as a basis for mods?

If your a TopSolid 7 user i can send you the spurce files for TS7, but if not you gonna have to settle with the STEP file assembly. Sorry

I didn't notice the STP file there at the bottom of the list 'til you mentioned it. Seems to open ok and it's a good start. Thanks for your efforts!

It's a really beautiful quad. I'm printing it right now! The only drawback is the battery compartment... It's really small to fit even an 3s 2200 mah...

Yeah, the battery compartment is way to small, i´ll fix that when i get back to this project! =)

I realised i need to learn more about quadcopters and how they work. The elctronics are a mystery to me so i need to learn more before moving on with this project.

It's not too hard once you learn the wiring of the naza unit. If you have any particular question, I might be able to help.
