To filter the content of the resin tank for small particles, that sometimes float around in the resin after printing, I made a resin tank comb. It fits exactly in the resin tank of the Form 1 (also the Form 1+).

This resin tank comb is based on the idea of Michael Breitenstein, which I found on the forum of Formlabs:

I made my own version of the resin tank comb, since my print of the original one failed due to little print support.

For more information on this resin tank comb, here's my post on Formlabs' forum:

Besides the STL file, I included the form file for owners of a Form 1 (for orientation).

I printed the resin tank comb in 100 micron layer height (0.1 mm) in Formlabs' white resin.

The STL file is the 3D design file, the form file can be used by owners of a Form 1(+), for a jump start in printing the resin tank comb.

If I load the form file into PreForm then it tells me that (at least with my Form 1) it is unprintable (attached screenshot to show). If I start with the STL then I seem to end up with an option that doesn't fit. Any tips for getting PreForm to like the design?

Hey, would you mind posting the source files, or modifying it for the Form 2 resin tank? Thank you.

I use Rhino, so there is no actual parametric source file you can alter quickly. I guess you would be quicker off to just draw a new one from scratch? Is this tool even necessary for the Form2, since it has a built in scraper?

Well the scraper doesn't get pieces out of the tank, just moves the, out of the way, sometimes not completely. This helps pull broken pieces out of the tank all together. I guess I'll have to model one on my own. Was just looking for a base to model off of. Thanks.

No problem. Good luck with designing your own scraper. Cheers!
