Hi there, can someone that knows, explain how to set the wall thickness in simplify 3D? I only have outline/perimeter shell set to 3 layers while printing at 0.2 mm resolution . Would that be enough?

If your line width is 0.4mm, then 3 shells will equal 1.2mm

Exactly what I had in my head, thanks for this! Do you feed filament directly from this without issue? Thanks!

Yes, you can feed directly from it as long as it's mounted above the printer.

Printing it standing up was a bad idea, every layer is a weak point. Re-oriented it on the bed to be like how you have it. I was trying to get away from support structures. Oh well, re-doing a 4 hour print. This is a learning experience :)

I designed it to be printed standing up without support structure. Using 0.2mm layer height, 1.2mm wall thickness, and 20% infill is strong enough for what it's designed to do. The one pictured is made with PLA.

Thanks! My spools are much less thick so I'm going to print at a lower scale and rotated 90 degrees on X so it prints straight up (i kind of have to, I have an M3D) - will be printing and mounting to the wall within a few hours, thanks!
