Nice simple idea :-)
I tried it on a ANET A6.
Sizes are just a little to big, it sometimes rams into the X carriage.
As is, NOT usefull for ANET A6..

Just discovered my x axis belt is very loose and there's really no adjustment so this looks like it will work!
