This is a modification of lazzymonk's Vibration Isolator v2. I have removed the Prusa Mendel foot, extruded up the top surface 3.5mm, and cut a 2mm wide channel into it to fit a naked Replicator 2 foot.

The Replicator 2 doesn't vibrate too much to begin with, but I think these are really neat anyway. They fit great!

I printed it in PLA on the Replicator 2. Medium defaults worked fine. I guess I'd go with 0.20 layer thickness instead of 0.27. It might need helper discs or a raft to prevent curling.

Is it safe to print with PLA or should I use ABS?

I printed mine in PLA :)

My R2X is so heavy I printed an extra set of the spring coils thingys without the tabs and stuffed them inside the existing springs.
Gave the feet a lot more support and now the dampers work great.

I made four of these the other day - it got hot in my workshop and they collapsed! Anyone else experienced this? Currently I've just stuffed the gaps with neoprene tape, but i'm not sure how long that will last either...

I managed to tetris four of them into one build on a replicator 2X, which took nearly 4 hours to print. I'm glad I turned on raft, since it tried to peel on me, but mostly held together -- only one part ended up with some warping, which was nothing a few minutes with a dremel couldn't fix.

They work in ABS but sag a bit more.

+1 to whoever makes this for ultimaker

Funny thing you should ask for this, because I have just done that, right before I found your comment :-)

lol just found it before i found this comment XD

Just looking at pictures, it seems like these may fit an ultimaker. Why not print a replicator 2 replacement foot and try it? They use hardly any plastic.
