This bike is modeled on a bike seen all around our cities (Dubin, Cork, Limerick, Galway - Ireland), and is part of a new bike share initiative by our National Transport Authority in partnership with City Councils (www.bikeshare.ie)
The printable bike shared here, has a blank tab that you can add a club or voluntary group name to if you wish, as a printable give-away gimmick. Example also included in the file for our Maker group.
(Sketchup file shared for ease of modification)
The design is derived from "Touring Bike Business Card", but is sadly no longer business card size.
The single STL prints well when sliced at .2mm layer height.
To achieve the two colour look on the bike, I changed the filament from black to red after layer 5, simply printing the raised surfaces in a different colour (Red).
Depending on your printer you will have to experiment with when and how you change colour.
(the files are not designed specifically for dual nozzle printers)
The exported STL from Sketchup was repaired via Netfabb, hence the "_fixed" in their names. If you add your name or logo to the tab in the Sketchup file, and export to STL I'd recommend you process via Netfabb Cloud repair for best slicing results later.
The bike bits should click together easily and stay together without glue, but the experience may be printer/print quality dependent. The assembly instructions will resemble those from which the bike was derived... assembly instruction visible here: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:714484/#files
