A 1/6th replica of the neon sign at the entrance of Flynn's arcade in the movie Tron made using EL wire. I made this one to serve as marquee for my arcade machine but you could use it to decorate your game room or as a topper for a pinball machine.
This was designed for 3.2mm EL wire but should work with 2.6mm as well.
Print each letter individually. Rough resolution (0.3mm) worked best for me but that might depend on your settings.
The curved bar for the frame will need to be split depending on the size of your print bed. You need 3 of those. The 3 bars are held together using support bars. There are different types provided. You can mix and match depending on how you split the curved bar and how you want to mount the sign.
For PLA, I welded the pieces together using the modified glue gun method but you could use ABS and just glue the pieces.
For the EL wire, cut each piece individually and solder to the back of each letter on copper tape. Solder all letters together and connect to an inverter. You will need an inverter good for 10-15m of el wire. Go easy inserting the elwire in the clips as they are tight.
