I added a pointer and made it into a giant antique radio-style potentiometer knob! Thanks!

When I saw the image I immediately thought of this controller that they use with Google Earth in the lobby at Google:

I assume the knob is screwed down from inside the lid? If so, you could print it in two horizontal slices, with a flat seam between them. This would allow you to go ahead and include that concave underside by printing the lower slice upside down.

Ya, this was a really quick design while the rice cooked. The bed of silicone seals it and gives more strength.

Printing sideways would not make the grain go around the knob. As it is, it has a kind of "turned" look.
