Speaking of salt solutions, based on my theoretical calculation, if you were to dissolve 35-36g of epsom salt (magnesium sulfate heptahydrate) into 100 mL of water (35% weight epsom salt/water), you should be able to achieve a density of 1.24 (which is the density of PLA unless you use one of the metal-PLA or carbon fibre PLA)

Epsom salt is one of the salts that has high solubility in water, which would produce the most density increasing effect.

Very original idea! Educational too, as I wouldn't have expected those results.

Sounds awesome!

I used extra virgin olive oil (what I had handy in the kitchen). I used pretty close to the maximum ratio of salt in the video (roughly 35% by mass). But you can "tune" the amount of salt to suit your print which may have a slightly different density (eg. air pockets between layers). The main thing is that you still want the guy to still be able to sink in the water to prove that it's the oil holding him up.

It worked for me with no salt, but not very reliably because the guy was a bit too heavy in the water.
