I wanted a little more secure of a hold down mechanism for the "Universal stand-alone filament spool holder (Fully 3D-printable)" thing so I came up with these mods. They are not all that eloquent from a design perspective as I am a bit of a Sketchup hack but they work for me.

Print these as substitutes for the rest of the holder which is not duplicated here.

Spindle wont pass netfabb. Do you have a repaired stl? Thanks

Have you tried slicing it anyway? It will slice ok in Slic3r, Cura, and Simplify3D. I know that it might be sloppy to leave errors hanging about but all I needed was something that would print!

It seems to slice fine. Not sure why netfabb shows an error. First time I've seen that happen. Crisis averted lol. Thanks

There are 'def errors ! Just not ones that the slicer seems to fail on. :-o

Very clever adaptation! Thanks for sharing. :-)

It has a good parent! The original design has 'def improved the feed to my Ultimaker 2 but the 3mm filament kept pulling the spool off center so I decided a little firmer lock was needed. It takes a little more effort to get the spool on and off but worth the effort IMHO!
