This is a peristaltic pump we created during Futurelabcamp Boston. It uses a NEMA 14 stepper motor to drive the rotational pump. The stepper motor driver is based on the standard design of L297/L298. We use an arduino to step it. It has it's own website on http://peristalsis.tentacleriot.eu


Print 2 Disk.stl, 1 lever 1 nutholder and 2 tubeholders.

How much l/minute does it push, and how much head does it give?

Not so much with the stepper we used. It all depends on how you gear things before that. We used a quite under-powered stepper motor to drive it so couldn't do much head.

In general peristaltic pumps don't do much throughput though.

Is it possible to heat the complete thing?

If this is possible, you can create a nice exctruder for choclate or something like that...

How well does it work? Could you post a video??


It does work, however it could be greatly improved. Especially the lever holding the tube. It needs a ledge to hold the tubing in the correct position. Also our stepper (the NEMA 14 used in makerbots) has not enough torque to pump really well. I'll check whether there are videos around and will post one...
