My son thinks 3D printers exist to create an ARMY OF CLONE TROOPERS! So be it.

Actual 1:1 minifig scale. With a minor amount of X-Acto cleanup they do go on a Lego baseplate and the upper hand can hold a weapon. The rest of the body is immobile, it is one solid unit. The helmet and chest were modeled by me and are not the same as an official Lego clone trooper minifig.

For best results, build standing up with support and a brim. My Printrbot Simple Metal makes a pair of these in a little over an hour at 20% fill.

So, if anyone could try to edit this, I'd like to see it flipped along the middle (raising the right hand rather than the left.) I don't have any software capable of such an edit at the moment, and it would certainly satisfy my need for lego warriors. I'll keep trying, and if I pull it off I'll post the files. Thanks!

Windows 10 has a built in 3D Builder app that can mirror on any axis.

Oh, and in case you needed more nerd in your life...most stormtroopers and clone troopers in the movies use their guns in their left hands.

That's interesting, I hadn't caught that. I'll have a look at cura then, my stuff isn't top of the line, only an M3D.

You might be able to do this in your slicer. Cura can mirror files, for example.

Just printed it! My 5 years old loved it! Thank you!

I just made one of these (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1019441). I am going to use your model and take it apart a bit so I can make a separate helmet and chest. When I get the pieces done, I'll post them here. You did a great job making a solid figure. Too bad you lost the original files. Still a good starter for me. Thank you for the hard work. I have similar kids always asking for lego guys with my printer.

If you want just the head, you can adjust the Z height of your printer so that only the head is sticking up. Then drill out a hole for the neck of any minifig body.

can you make a seperated version?

+1, separated parts version please ;P

Sadly I cannot separate it, as I made it with a borrowed version of Solidworks that I no longer have. I don't have the original files any more either.
