Summary

I wanted to make the NASA Wrench both tighten and loosen a bolt so I modified to have a socket mount on both sides. I made the socket mount an insert so if it breaks, you can easily replace it. You could also create different inserts for smaller sockets.

See me build this on a Da Vinci Jr. on my YouTube Channel:

Instructions

I imported the NASA Wrench .stl file into Tinkercad and then removed the socket mount by running a square hole through the center. Then I created an insert to replace the socket mount. I included two of the inserts so I had a spare in-case it broke.

I like this design since the connector does not fit my tools so can design just the connector for my wrench points.

coolness. This looks like the best solution for making the ratchet both tighten and loosen.

What were your print settings? How has it held up?

I think it was 0.1 layer height and 50% fill. I sliced it in XYZware. It eventually broke.
