Summary

This is a printable Melodyian. When combined with an Arduino and other electronic components it can be turned into a remote-controlled Melodyian musical robot! Check out the complete Instructable here:
http://www.instructables.com/id/Musical-Melodyian-MIDI-Robot/

Alternatively, it can act as a friendly Melodyian "objet d'art" - a curious interstellar traveler always at the ready to greet you with a friendly stare and calming presence. Print it, decorate it, share it with your friends, and take it with you wherever your cosmic travels may lead.

Instructions

Important note - Make sure you scale these pieces to INCHES before printing, not millimeters. These pieces often initialize in mm units when first loaded into printing applications like MakerWare, but don’t be fooled! Make sure they’re scaled to inches!

All the pieces have been designed to friction fit together and we've tested extensively using ABS plastic. We recommend printing with ABS plastic, but PLA should work too.

If you have ambitions to turn your Melodyian into an Arduino-based musical robot, print these pieces in the following quantities:

• Primid_Base – 1
• Primid_Connector-Loop – 8 connectors (1 print of this file)
• Primid_Connector-Peg – 48 pegs total (10 duplicates of this file = 50 pegs)
• Primid_Eye-Large – 4
• Primid_Eye-Med – 4
• Primid_Eye-Small – 4
• Primid_Face-A – 2
• Primid_Face-B – 2
• Primid_InnerMount-Risers – 4 pieces (1 print of this file)
• Primid_InnerMount-Surface – 1

If you wish to print a simpler Melodyian sculpture, you can save yourself some plastic by only printing these pieces in the following quantities:

• Primid_Base – 1
• Primid_Connector-Loop – 8 connectors (1 print of this file)
• Primid_Connector-Peg – 40 pegs total (8 duplicates of this file = 40 pegs)
• Primid_Eye-Large – 4
• Primid_Eye-Med – 4
• Primid_Eye-Small – 4
• Primid_Face-A – 2
• Primid_Face-B – 2

Once you're done printing all the pieces, mosey on over to our Instructable page to see how to paint and assemble the finished Melodyian robot!
