Summary

Update 2/26/2016. Thanks to DesignMakeTeach for pointing out that my original file had the equations incorrectly labeled. The correct version is now up: tetrahedron_1_2016.stl

This model is the tetrahedron defined by equations x+2y+z=2, x=2y, z=0, and x=0. The equations are printed on the model.

Instructions

You may have to scale by a factor of 10 if you're using MakerWare, since it tends to import files in mm, not cm. Object is sized to be 10cm tall, but smaller prints should work just fine.

This object was made on a MakerBot2X. We used the following settings:
2 shells
0.20mm layer height
10% infill (hexagonal pattern)
No supports
raft off

We printed the object with the x+2y+z=2 face as the base. Thus, we needed to add some ABS juice to the build bed to be sure the object stuck and didn't curl up at the corners.

Help. Can't figure out how to orient this tetrahedron. I'm assuming that the equation on each face should correspond with a matching plane. The only way this makes sense to me is if the x=0 & x=2y equations are switched. I am probably misunderstanding something basic. Please let me know what I am doing wrong. Thank you.
