Summary

This proximity sensor holder is for the "Inductive Proximity Sensor Detection Switch NPN 4mm DC6-36V LJ12A3-4-Z/BX".

I bought this sensor in eBay to ouyou2010
http://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/ouyou2010?_trksid=p2047675.l2559

It can be found here:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/131402459032?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

The extruder body that I have is this one:
http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:119616

I created this in FreeCAD from scratch but based on the work of http://www.thingiverse.com/fotogravinci

Main goals for this design are:

  • Right for the Wade Extruder of the Prusa i3 rework.
  • 3D printable without supports.
  • Small profile and rounded edges for low resistance to air flow from hot end fan.
  • Keeps its distance from the hot end to avoid overheating.

If you are after the sources please go to github:

Enjoy it!

Instructions

I've printed it using:

  • 4 perimeters.
  • 0.35 layers.
  • 0.4 mm extruder.
  • 204 degrees.
  • 4 layer top/bottom at 100% infill.
  • Rest at 30% linear infill.

Hi, I`m looking to add a sensor for my printer. Will this work on a Wanhao Duplicator i3 v2.1 .

It looks like adding a sensor to your printer seems possible: https://youtu.be/Wi2CNFth1vg

If the question is whether you can use this holder or not... check if your noozle has two holes with the right distance between them so you can bolt it in place.

Hi rafadesu, I am using this thing in my printer. But I need to change my former sensor to a new one, that is much more larger. I tried to get your file and change it, but Freecad is giving errors, and I don't have much experience using it anyway... Would you be so kind to upload a stl file for sensor of 18 mm of diameter?
