I modified a standard ZMR 250 frame by removing the aluminium spacers and the top plate and replacing them with a 3D printed spacer for a flat and sleek look. This also moves more mass closer to the center of rotation, improving the roll characteristics of the frame.

Fusion 360 parametric design files
Autodesk Fusion 360 is a very complete CAD program which is now completely free for hobbyists.
The design files for this spacer are now available for everybody to download and edit to their own preference. Full design history is available.
Through the quick edit parameters that I have set-up for you, you can now quickly edit:
- Overall spacer height
- Spacer wall thickness
- Diameter of screw holes
- Arm clearance to compensate for 3D printer accuracy
The raw design files include all raw sketches and images used to re-create the exact ZMR 250 frame geometry as best I could.
Fully symmetric design:
The design is now fully symmetric, no more offsets and being careful with part orientation.
ESUN PLA or ABS
I recommend printing this with at least 50% infill with at least 2 shells and 3 top and bottom surfaces. This is what I used for my original 2015 PLA print of this spacer. It has held up perfectly over the years.
Print the spacer upside down
Printing this model upside down will prevent support material and improve the fit around the carbon arms. I highly recommend it.
The spacer was designed based on high resolution scans of the original ZMR 250 frame components. I did my best to follow the scans while also thinking about the likely actual dimensions of the design.
A test print showed the positioning of features and functional holes was perfect for my case, please let me know if you find any deviations.
