I was having problems with slippage on my Printrbot Simple BETA z axis so I designed this little coupler. Seems to hold tight.

I printed with 2 extras walls and 20% infill at 0.2 layer height.

You can either print a nut or go buy one but I think the printed one will actually hold better because of it's snug fit on the rod.

Use two M3x10 bolts to tighten the coupler down on the motor shaft. Use the extra nut to tighten down against the coupler and lock it into place on the threaded rod.

This coupler will not fit a 'Production' PrintrBot Simple. The production unit has a 1/4", 16 TPI Acme rod. But the printout does look mighty nice....

This worked a treat for me, thanks so much! Much less finicky than constantly adjusting the wood sandwich coupler (although brilliant work by Brook to bring down production costs there, don't get me wrong) :D

I had some slippage, too, but I just pulled the vinyl tube off the motor spindle and tightened the zip tie a couple more notches then jammed it back on (gently).

Does it affect the Y axis's motor?

The coupler and nut will clear the Y axis's motor.
