I designed this so I could use the mini height sensor board with my E3d Chimera and duet electronics. Sensor link below.


I printed it in ABS to make it a bit more heat resistant as it's pretty close to the heat block, It mounts on the front of the fan.

When homing the hotend ends up being about 1.9mm away from the bed so I modified the G31 command in the config file to G31 Z1.9 P500
This way when it's homing the hotend will be 2mm away from the heatbed but once the print starts the hotend will be at the correct height.

Do you know what the Y offset is from the nozzle?

Works great with the Chimera, thanks.
But i would like to increase the trigger height and also to make a version for a hot end that has a much greater height
i.e. Volcano type.
Is there an SCAD file for this you could publish?

What screws are you using to hold the fan on? Did you tap the heatsink for them?

I just used m3 screws, they just fit in between the heatsink fins, no need to tap.

Nice! Simple, easily attached to existing setups. I'm ordering one now because I know this exists and I wont have to fight with mounting it.
