For years I've had several vacuum tubes that I scavenged from my Grandfather's basement. However, they were pretty unsteady when trying to stand them up in a display case. The four shown here have three distinct base patterns - they probably have names but I don't know much more than they look cool.
The pictures show the result done in Black ABS. This was my first non-trivial ABS print and despite the large size I had a hard time getting it to stick to the base. When building, I needed to make sure the fan didn't come on for about 5mm (not 0.5mm as the original Cura settings had).
The holes in the base are designed to be exactly the same size as the tube pins. I wanted it to be a snug fit but when printed the plastic spreads a bit and make the holes too small. I drilled the holes out a bit to allow the pins to enter while still being snug.
