This is a simple robot project using 3D-printed parts and an Attiny85. It is controlled using a TV remote but can also drive by itself using an ultrasonic sensor.

Im trying to get the ATTiny to work, but it gets really hot when powered. I thought I had a problem with my wiring, but I disconnected all the wiring except for power and ground from the ATTiny, but it still gets really hot...

Im just using a 3V battery, any idea as to why this might happen?


Are you really sure you didn't mix up the sides of the chip?
If the Attiny gets hot that usually means you connected it the wrong way.
If you let it get too hot there is a chance that it is broken now and heats up even when connected the right way.
Maybe you have to try another chip.

Someone mounted this with Arduino Nano?

Its the only way i have to put electronics working.

This is a nice looking bot.
I wish to make one for my kid but I have no experience making any bots.
You've already mentioned in your comments that you are using 2 servos (HXT900), battery ( 3.7V 600mAh Lipo) and ultrasonic sensor.
Can you please share the board and connection details ? A how-to guide would very useful for novice like me.

Connecting the components is not that difficult if you have some wires and a soldering iron.
The tricky part is programming the Attiny and you will need an Arduino or a programmer for that.
It may be better for you to start with a more simple robot or experiment with an arduino first.
However I am still planning on writing a tutorial but I won't have time until christmas.

The battery is a tigers 3.7V 600mAh Lipo.
Servos are from Hobbyking: HXT900
The parts are printed with the flat side (inside) down.
