By the way, I made this rig but when I tested it I couldn't get any overlap between adjacent cameras. We are using 4 GoPro's at NYU. I don't know if it is because of the resolution that I chose. If anyone can help me my email is gz629@nyu.edu. We have ordered some fish eye lenses but would rather do it without them if possible as the cameras are shared with the entire department plus the lenses could get lost more easily than the rig.

Please let me know if you can help. It would be appreciated.

Hello, did you set the gopros image resolution to 1440p 4:3ratio?

I guess that's the next move :)

I believe this will only work with fisheye lenses. In fact you can use just 3 cameras and fish eye lenses or if every other camera is vertical in this set up it will work.

GLuck

Hi Raymond could you tell me the sizes of the screws you used?

Also what settings you use on the gopros?
thanks

Nick

this design in difference from the 6 camera holder, allows more frontal subject framing without aberration couse its frontal lens directions. with 6lense model its harder to see as an action subject what image of you is the camera getting though the angel of the cameras... its a smart move in order to get a solid globe image, but in scene you will be always traspassing through the limits of the lenses, never right in front.. wich is the better posittion to be captured with this extreme wide angular lenses (165°). So for actors or human participation i will recommend frontal lense. in scene you will be always traspassing through the limits of the lenses, never right in front.. wich is the better posittion to be captured with this extreme wide angular lenses (165°).

Why not align the lens on the midle of the cube? like the izugar rig? better parallax that way i guess.

If anyone is intrested in a full licsence for video stitch studio im selling my key. Got it before i got my cameras and did not activate it. Never did buy those cameras :)

Dear RaymondHOPK, could you please specify exact dimensions of bolts and nuts used?
Thanks in advance!

Did you ever figure out the sizes for the bolts and nuts? At Home Depot trying to figure this out.

Would love to see a sample video. It would be great to get away with only buying 5 cameras instead of six. Can you explain some of the differences when using 5 vs. 6. Does Autopano still handle the stitching fine with 5?

Hi Raymond
I try to shoot with your rig but i don't understaind how to use Autopano Video becouse it works good with a rig that have the gopro with an angle of 45°...
I don't know wich kind of preferences I need to use!
the gopro works in wide mode and in High definition.
thank so much
andrea

Hi Raymond!

I just printed your design, and tried it out with a combination of gopro 3 and 4, but I wasn't quite able to get it working properly. Can you tell me a little bit about the settings you are using on the GoPro? And will the four cameras actually be able to capture full circle when they are placed like that?

Also, what kind of software would you recommend for the stitching?

Thanks for all your great work!

Hi henriklied

I use Kolor Autopano Video to stitch my GoPro 360 videos . Its very easy to use.

Is this rig supposed to work only with 5 GoPro hero 4 black ? Or doesn't matter if you use also silver?

Hi, it also work fine with silver edition.
