One of the more successful designs from my shapeways shop, this 3D jigsaw puzzle, made of 21 unique pieces, is sure to challenge you and your friends. I hope you enjoy! and please let me know what you think!

A "surface map" guide to the solution is in the images (looking "outside-in"). For the record, it took my brother and his wife about 2 hours to get about halfway without the use of the surface map, and since they had to go I gave them the map and it took them another half hour to finish it. :D

Were you able to print with without supports?

Hi egamel, I optimised this model for use in shapeways SLS printers, which don't need supports. If you look at the prints that other people have made of this, most of them haven't done infill, so I think it should work.

Vers Nice design, but when I look at the pieces on your photos, I don't have exactly the same ones... And when I build the cube, I end up with a piece I can't include because there are only 6 cube units left and the piece is 7 cube units.
Any suggestions...

Hi Giloop, well done on noticing that I did modify three pieces from what is shown in the pictures (because I realised I had unwittingly designed the puzzle with two copies of the same piece, and I wanted all 21 to be unique). I've just now double checked that I didn't upload the wrong source files to the page, and I also double checked that the pieces do total 125 units of volume and that the puzzle is solvable.

The piece you have out is the only fully internal piece, so you must have it quite close to right. One end of the 4-unit "S" piece should also occupy the centre cube.

Thanks for your answer, my turn to double check now ... I must have missed a place inside the cube...

I give up. Still stucked at the same point. You would be so kind to post a stl version of the solution.

I did it, the surface map has one error in the right square. By the way I made a cage to help assemble the cube, in the pictures you can see the error in the surface map.

Cage for the "Tetris" 3D puzzle (21 pieces)

Son of a.... NICE pickup criscol64, and well done on solving it despite misinformation :) Sorry if that surface map error caused confusion Giloop. I have modified the surface map accordingly - thanks for your feedback. Now I realise the original surface map was one I drew before I made the mod. I'm not going to put up the full solution because I think most of the fun of a puzzle is figuring out what the answer is, whilst knowing that there is no short cut to it :)

Also, good work criscol64 on the cage. You might be interested to check out the decorative box I sell with the model on shapeways - I figured anyone who is willing to pay to have it made should at least get something no one else gets :)

Ok, thank you both, I could finally make it !

cool stuff.. hope, my print will be done in a few minutes. done it without supports.. hope it works ;)
