Hi. I fixed up the 15mm STL in Blender so that it's manifold and now it slices and prints for me. If it's all OK then please include my STL here so that I can delete my remix. Cheers.

For anyone else looking to fix up in Blender: Ctrl+Alt+Shift+M shows non-manifold vertices, which are a lot easier to tidy up if you hide (H) the vertices in unaffected areas. Alt+M to merge clusters of very close vertices is also very handy.

I keep getting "not manifold" errors when prepping for print. Do you have any special tools or methods you use when prepping your .STLs?

not manifold means there is an open seam somewhere in the model, meaning the places where the printer would normal do an infill is open air. More often then not, the seam is close enough to being closed that the printing software closes it with no problem.

Man, I wish I had more technical advice to offer, but that stuff is a little beyond me. I think you can fix non-manifold issues in Blender, but I haven't had any issues printing him yet. What program are you using to slice him?

I have to say I am impressed the spear prints as well as it does.
Nice model as always!
Now a fat valkerie lady with a spear and helmut and shield
for my opera diorama!

Haha, good call! Of course, I'll have to print her last, otherwise it'll all end prematurely... :-P

Yeah, the secret is in the split. If I printed him upright the spear would certainly be deformed, and I'm doubtful that support material would change that.

What 3d printer do you use when you print ?

Hey. I use a Replicator 1.
