Is there still the BIC part inside?
Could it be replaced by a simple gear (fi for belts)?

Yes, originally it's a BIC part. It should also work with MK8 (same diameter), but I don't have myself, so wasn't able to test.
Other designs available here for a MK7 (11mm) version but again, not tested... Happily accept beta-testers opinions though.
Will upload them when fully tested.

What do you mean by fi for belts?

fi = for instance -

I meant a MK8 or something like that, having a set screw to fix it.
