Here's my first attempt at making a E3D V6 mount for my custom Ultimaker2.
To attach the two printed parts i've designed it to use 2 m3x10mm hex cap screws. The holes should be just small enough that the screws can self tap. So please don't over tighten.
Note this is a work in progress. I have several things I plan to add to the design this week, time permitting.
-Fan mount for printing with PLA
-Extend the top area upwards to help hide some of the loose wires.
-Add a clip at the top to help hold the wires in place.
Due to the placement of the hotend and the two m6 bearings I had to change the Ultimaker firmware slightly to adjust the Max X and Y.
UPDATE 10-18-2015 - CAD files uploaded as requested by a few people. Please let me know if you have any trouble with them.
UPDATE 9-24-2015 - Added Version 1.4 files. This update adds the dual fan mount and the necessary M3 screw holes in the two pieces for the main E3D mount. Please note I would absolutely suggest using ABS for the fan mount. I've had good luck as long as temps are 235c or below. Also all screw holes are self tapping intended for M3 screws. Also for each fan I only needed to screw in the top two screws. The fit was tight enough that the bottom wasn't necessary. Also I added aluminum tape on the inside of the fan mount to help reflect the heat away from the ABS. I'm still not 100% sure how much it really helps. Just note i've slightly melted 2 fan mounts when running at 240c. Anyway, i'm not a CAD expert. So any suggestions/feedback is greatly appreciated.
UPDATE 8-06-2015 - Added V1.1 files. These have slightly smaller holes for bearings and the m3 screws. So both will be a tighter fit. So less play. FYI, If you're printer over extrudes circles you way want to use the original files instead.
