I got the file and printed it came out fine except the slot for the computer was only big enough for the PCB only the actual 7" screen and the pi is about 1/2" it would need to be about 5/8" wide, not what appears to be about 1/8 wide....

Printed like a charm. Sized to fit on my small volume M3D. Thanks.

Surely 3D printer is the wrong way to go for that kind of stand. Far quicker just to get a block of almost anything and cut a suitable groove in it.

Is there any chance you could give me the link to the USB cable you're using from between the Pi and the display controller?

I know this is late. But the cord he is using here has been found to have a voltage drop and not recommended. This cable is what they are now saying should be used if you want to keep you GPIO pins free.

I loved this stand until the latest firmware update turned the screen upside down (right way up apparently) and the slot is too deep to suit the screen flat cable now :(

In /boot/config.txt you can add a line that says:

lcd_rotate = 2

Using 'display_rotate' won't also rotate the touches detected on the screen to match so be sure to use "lcd_rotate".

this didn't work for me until i took the spaces out and made it

lcd_rotate=2

That sounds like it makes sense and was probably just a formatting issue of this website. I have changed my advice in the object description!

Excellent excellent excellent point!

I know! It's a nuisance that it has been changed - I currently do not have a 3D printer handy and so I am not able to change my design accordingly at the moment!
